Campus Ministry at ETSU
Welcome to the Presbyterian Campus Ministry where ALL students are invited to join us for fun, food, study and mission work through the celebration of the Christian faith. Sponsored by Holston Presbytery, this ministry represents the Presbyterian Church (USA) on the campus of East Tennessee State University and is located at 1415 College Heights Road, Johnson City under the guidance of Director Jim Kirkpatrick.
Our Vision: They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. Acts 2:42
Using this scripture as a model, we seek to provide a program for ETSU students which offers times of fellowship, the breaking of bread together, worship opportunities, and opportunities for considering all the ramifications of the Christian faith.
In Holston Presbytery, both campus and youth ministry are provided through the Youth & Young Adult Ministry (YYAM) Committee. They are administered under the same officer and staffed by the Director of Campus/Youth Ministry, Jim Kirkpatrick. For more information on Youth Ministry, click here!
- Presbyterian Student Fellowship (PSF) is a student-run program meeting on Tuesdays for supper, fellowship and concluding with a discussion-type Bible study relevant to student life. Programs are planned by a Student Council and students are encouraged to become a part of the planning and working process with leadership development a high priority.
- International Student Fellowship (ISF) provides fellowship for international students with other students in their same situations.
- Faculty/Staff Lunches provide a weekly meal complete with a speaker on a timely topic.
- Campus House offers a great place to get away and just be yourself! Our hope is that it can become a second home as many students use the facility to study, hang out, cook a meal, do laundry, play pool, watch TV and fellowship. All students are invited to participate in this ministry regardless of religious beliefs.
WEEKLY EVENTS:
Presbyterian Student Fellowship (PSF) meets Tuesdays at 6 p.m. for fun, food, fellowship.
Faculty/Staff Lunch is offered each Wednesday at 11:45 a.m. with topical speakers and discussion along with the opportunity for fellowship.
News & Views is a time to consider the news in light of our faith each Thursday at 8 p.m.
International Student Fellowship meets Fridays at 7 p.m. as a gathering for international students.
Counseling Service is available at any time when needed for those who want to “talk it over.”
