Holston Presbytery

Youth Ministry in Holston Presbytery will call young people to discipleship in Jesus Christ and provide a safe environment for their spiritual growth by: seeking and responding to the needs and interests of young people; developing leadership of and for the Church; supporting the local church in its efforts of youth ministry through the implementation of events, and providing the vehicle for the exchange of ideas and resources among our churches; reaching out to the uninvolved; and by strengthening the connectional aspect of the church.

The Youth Ministry Committee and the Young Adult Ministry Committee of Holston Presbytery each oversee the scheduling and staffing of events for the youth and young adult members of our congregations. The main focus of this ministry is to support our 67 churches by providing events for young people (6th grade through high school graduation), by continuing education for leaders, and by consulting with local churches.

Presbyterian Campus Ministry House is located at 1412 College Heights Road at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City. Andrea Sutter is the Director of the Campus House and coordinates events with the above two committees giving students an opportunity to fellowship and continue their journey of faith while at ETSU.

Youth Council serves under the Youth Ministry Committee of the presbytery and consists of four youth plus one adult from each of the regions of Holston Presbytery. It is run by youth officers elected by their peers with adults serving in advisory capacities. All youth members join the Council through an application process and must be nominated by their local churches.
